30 Minutes or Less Festival – Code of Conduct
The 30 Minutes or Less Festival is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, including performers, creatives, staff, volunteers, and audience members. This festival is about creativity, collaboration, and community. We expect everyone involved to uphold the following principles at all times.
1. Respect and Inclusivity
Treat everyone with respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, age, citizenship status, body size, or background.
Discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Respect differences in perspective. Listen before speaking, ask questions rather than assume intent, and engage in constructive dialogue.
2. Professional Conduct
Maintain professionalism in all interactions, including rehearsals, performances, meetings, and online spaces.
Collaboration, generosity, and constructive feedback are encouraged. Personal attacks, intimidation, or disruptive behavior are not acceptable.
Respect intellectual property: unauthorized recording, copying, or distribution of another’s creative work is prohibited.
3. Harassment, Bullying, and Violence
Harassment, bullying, and violence are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
Offensive or humiliating comments or behavior related to gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, mental health, physical appearance, or religion.
Unwelcome jokes, microaggressions, or deliberate “outing” of someone’s identity without their consent.
Stalking, following, or other intimidating behavior.
Unwanted physical or simulated physical contact, including sexual comments or advances.
Violent behavior such as hitting, throwing objects, threatening language, or incitement of self-harm.
Harassment is defined by the experience of the person targeted. If someone tells you to stop, stop immediately.
4. Safety and Responsibility
Follow all venue rules, safety protocols, and instructions from festival staff.
There is no storage at the venues; plan your setup with this in mind.
Look out for your own needs (rest, breaks, support) and those of others.
If you see unsafe or concerning behavior, report it to festival organizers right away.
5. Accountability
Violations of this Code may result in removal from festival events, disqualification of work, or further action at the discretion of the organizers.
Serious violations may be reported to other festivals or venues if safety is a concern.
6. Reporting and Support
If you experience or witness unsafe, inappropriate, or concerning behavior:
Immediate danger: Call 911.
On site: Notify a festival staff member or volunteer immediately.
Direct contact: Email [email protected] or call (415) 336-0513 for confidential support.
We take all reports seriously and will follow up promptly.
7. Our Commitment
The 30 Minutes or Less Festival is dedicated to accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusivity. We aim to provide a space where artists and audiences alike can share their voices, connect, and thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
